Let’s Try Again vs Pathetico Madrid (Mon)

Recap

Pathetico Madrid, sporting their very fetching new Ballers anniversary shirts, were the first opponents for the new look Let’s Try Again who were finally making their first appearance of the season, just over half way through! This was not a game where defences were on top…..

James Littlewood put Pathetico in front on three minutes, but LTA quickly took control to turn a one goal deficit into a 4 goal advantage as Jimmy Leeson scored three, Jay Willingham and Andy Carrington one each by the time we’d reached the 18 minute mark. Littlewood grabbed a couple more back for Pathetico, and we went into the break with the LTA advantage down to just the two goals.

That advantage disappeared in the opening 6 minutes of the second half as Littlewood continued his own personal mission to take something from this game with his 4th and 5th goals of the game. Carrington restored the LTA lead 16 minutes from time, and this time there was no looking back, Willingham got his second 4 minutes later, then Leeson scored 6 in as many minutes as Pathetico’s resistance completely disappeared. Tim Frost did sneak a goal in somewhere in between that flood of goals (his first in 38 games, we believe!), but Willingham and Collicott added two more to the LTA total. Having waited 38 games, Frost got a second just 8 minutes after his first, and Liam Needham scored in the last minute, but it was all far too little as LTA pick up what was in the end a comfortable win.
