Insole vs J Stands Barmy Army

Recap

This one looked like one to watch as Sunday Premiership Champions Insole continued their Tuesday adventure against Tuesday Premiership favourites J Stands, with the Barmy Army coming off a first defeat of the season to Mirror Signal Malouda last week.

This one got off to a very tight start, and there were 16 minutes on the clock when Jay Willingham put the Barmy Army in front. Having taken the lead they threw it away within 60 seconds as Liam Atkinson levelled things up. A loss of discipline seemed to cost J Stands at times, and they found themselves 3-1 down at the break as Atkinson got his second and Connor Harding Insole’s third a mnute before the interval.

The Barmy Army hit back in the early stages of the second period as Jamie Stokes and Willingham scored to make it 3-3 within 5 minutes of the restart. Matthew Atkinson put Insole ahead again with 11 minutes left and J Stands discipline let them down again for a period as Insole restored their two goal lead through Liam Atkinson’s third. They weren’t having it all their own way, as Connor Atkinson was putting in a man of the match performance in the Insole goal. He couldn’t stop Adam Hughes pulling one back for the Barmy Army two minutes from time, but as they poured forward Liam Atkinson got his 4th in the final seconds to give Insole a second win in a row.
