Insole vs Step Brothers

Recap

Step Brothers were looking at being back to a more recognisable team this week after a few regulars had been missing for the last few. They were going to have to be at their absolute best if they were to give the title favourites(?) and current holders Insole a decent game this week.

It didn’t take long for the leaders to go in front, as Liam Atkinson’s long range effort took a wicked deflection to give Step Brothers ‘keeper Matt Fay no chance. 6 minutes later it was 2-0 as Kyle Clarke scored the first of 7 goals that would find the net in the final 15 minutes of the half. Depressingly for the Brotherhood, all of those goals were into the same net, Aaron Campbell grabbing the 3rd and 4th within a couple of minutes of Clarke’s goal. Connor Harding grabbed two, Clarke a second and Brad Street the other as Insole killed the game off in the opening 25 minutes.

A combination of factors meant the second half was a tighter affair, and Step Brothers looked like ‘escaping’ with a defeat that was narrower than it looked like it might have been at half time as Street scored the only goal of the opening 20 minutes of the half. They finished strongly though, Jordan Cunningham grabbing a goal, Street getting his third, and Harding two more to finish a thoroughly one sided game in emphatic style.
