Stockport Eagles vs Team GM

Recap

The problem with new teams is that the guys who want to run the team don’t always know how reliable their new team mates are going to be. With that in mind, a very different looking Team GM took on a very familiar looking Stockport Eagles team as the Eagles looked to build on last weeks impressive showing against the league leaders The McMuffin Men.

Team GM had gotten off to a nightmare start last week, and the same happened here as Ben Waugh and Michael Winn put the Eagles 2-0 up in the first 5 minutes. It was 3-0 on 14 minutes as Paul Waugh got himself on the score sheet, but Ryan McAndrew pulled one back for GM a minute later. He got a second a couple of minutes after that, and it was 3-3 at the break when Callum Jones levelled up two minutes before the interval.

Ben Waugh restored the Eagles lead two minutes into the second period, but again GM hit back through Jones’ second of the game. GM hit the front for the first time with 19 minutes remaining as McAndrew got his third, but it was the Eagles turn to come from behind as they scored the final goal of the game two minutes from time through Alex Patterson to end an entertaining game in a competitive draw.
