Expected Toulose vs Stockport Eagles

Recap

Two teams still looking for their first point of the season went head to head this week, as Expected Toulose (who are still searching for that first point in their second spell with us) took on a Stockport Eagles team who will feel they have under achieved this season.

It looked unlikely that Toulose would be getting something from this game as the Eagles soared into an early lead through Paul Waugh’s 3rd minute goal, but the young side gathered themselves and came back into the game as the half went on. The half was tight with few chances at either end, and Toulose had struck the woodwork twice before the grabbed a deserved leveller on the stroke of half time through Brad Bent’s ruthless finish.

Having gone into the half time break on a positive note, Toulose switched off at the start of the second period and went behind again through Ben Waugh’as close range header. It didn’t take them as long to hit back this time, as Kane Jordan scored two minutes later to make it Desmond. As the half wore on it was the Eagles who began to look the more likely to go on and win it, and when Paul Waugh put them back in front for the third time with 16 minutes remaining they didn’t look back. Ben Waugh joined Paul on two goals for the game with 8 minutes left, and Michael Winn finished it off two minutes from time. Eagles off the mark for the season, while the quest for that first point is getting closer and closer for Expected Toulose.
