Wellspring FC vs 2 Goals 1 Schlupp

Recap

Two teams in need of a win went head to head this week as Wellspring, still struggling to adjust to life without a few former regulars, took on a 2 Goals 1 Schlupp side that have dropped away from the promotion spots in recent weeks after a good start.

Jake Hamilton gave Wellspring the lead in the second minute, but Lewis H levelled things up 4 minutes later. It was 2-1 to Wellspring when Jay Berrisford scored on 8 minutes, but Owen Johnson drew 2 Goals level 9 minutes before half time. Again Wellspring went in front through Lewis Arden’s goal, but again Schlupp pulled themselves level through Johnson’s second. Lewis H’s second of the game put 2 Goals in front three minutes before the break, but those three minutes were enough time for two more Berrisford goals to see Wellspring into half time with a 5-4 lead.

Arden’s second and Berrisford’s 4th inside the first 6 minutes of the second half seemed to have given Wellspring a grip on the game, but Johnson’s third with 15 minutes remaining kept 2 Goals in touch. Berrisford got his 5th three minutes later, but Lewis Bush and Ben Templeton pulled two more back for 2 Goals to make it a one goal game again. Arden scored two in a minute to ease Wellspring three in front again, but though Jordan Herbert pulled on back three minutes from time there was no coming back as Arden grabbed his 5th to end the contest and give Wellspring a much needed win.
